DESCO is seeking applicants for an avian and botanical survey in southeastern New Mexico. This project is expected to take place in August 2017 for 6-12 days where the average high temperatures are expected to be >95°F. Avian surveys will include pedestrian transects for raptors and burrowing owls. Work days will likely be 10 hour days with lodging provided. 1) Experience with desert avian surveys including raptors and burrowing owls prefered
2) Experience with botanical surveys prefered
3) Ability and comfort of hiking 3-5 miles a day in hot, desert scrub conditions
