We anticipate filling two technician positions for summer 2017 (Mid-May through August) to assist with projects being conducted in Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park in Georgia and Tennessee. This project will address questions related to bat ecology and monitoring, specifically the effects of white-nose syndrome on bat communities. We will be collecting acoustic data using Anabat Express detectors. We will not be handling bats therefore a rabies vaccination is not required for this position.
Housing will be provided throughout appointment.
Applicants must be able to work long days in rough terrain under variable conditions (heat, rain, humidity, insects). Applicants should be comfortable navigating with a map and a GPS unit, be flexible, and give attention to detail. Previous experience with acoustic detectors is required for at least one position at Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park and preferable for the remaining position. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
