Biological Field Technician
Location: South-Western Oklahoma

WEST is seeking a part-time Field Technician for a variety of wind-wildlife survey fieldwork in south-western Oklahoma. The position is available starting immediately, with available work opportunities through 2018.
There are four primary qualifications sought for the position(s): 1) interpersonal and communication skills, 2) wildlife biology technical knowledge and field experience, 3) organizational skills, and 4) demonstrated responsibility and reliability, as testified by previous employers/supervisors.
Start date: ASAP
A bachelor’s degree in a wildlife or biology-related field, with previous professional experience conducting wildlife field surveys is preferred. Ability to identify local bird species is highly desirable.
Candidates will be team players that will communicate effectively with supervisors in a timely manner, adhere to instructions, have excellent organizational skills, and the capability to conduct field surveys independently, effectively, and safely under sometimes difficult terrain and weather conditions. Due to the nature of field work, traditional M-F schedules are not typically followed, although there is regularly scheduled time off.

Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check; a pre-employment drug screen; and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required. Candidates must adhere to all health and safety requirements.
