Description
SVT is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator for the 2017-2018 TerraCorps service year. TerraCorps is part of the AmeriCorps program of national public service.

The CEC will assist SVT's Marketing and Outreach Program to deliver conservation outreach through SVT’s service area. The CEC will focus her/his efforts in approximately 6 to 8 communities to help build a stronger SVT and conservation presence.

Building upon work being done by the current CEC, the candidate will identify local community groups – both traditional and non-traditional partners – to help SVT make inroads into the community. To reach that diverse community audience, the CEC will employ a wide array of tactics, including social and traditional media and a variety of outdoor and indoor programming in the targeted communities that will appeal to a broad base of participants.

As an example, the CEC will lead programming in many of the communities in which SVT owns and manages conservation land. Many of these communities are ones where SVT is looking to further its reach. In some communities, this is an effort to build SVT’s name throughout the town, while in others, it is about engaging non-traditional partners to grow the organization’s presence. This includes reaching diverse audiences in many of the communities where there are multilingual residents.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree; high school diploma and experience may be substituted for education
*Comfortable preparing for and presenting in front of groups
*Strong writing, communication, and networking skills, including traditional and social media
*Strong interest in serving with diverse community groups, landowners, and municipalities
*Able to serve both independently and as a member of a team
*Familiar with Microsoft Office programs

Desired Qualifications:
*Experience in community needs assessment
*Experience with diversity and inclusion issues
*Experience training and managing volunteers
*Experience in local government, or civic organizations
*Marketing experience or experience developing public information materials
*Familiarity with land conservation, preferred but not restricted to Massachusetts
*Experience with service learning programs
*Experience with project management, including the ability to define clear, measurable outcomes
