The Kentucky Division of Water is seeking to hire an Environmental Biologist Consultant to collect water and biological samples (e.g. benthic macroinvertebrates or phytoplankton) and perform taxonomic identifications based on expertise. Experience in the identification of phytoplankton and especially cyanobacteria would be useful. At present, the register is scheduled to close on 8/6/17, but we are trying to extend it to 8/16/17. The position is located in Frankfort, KY. The starting salary is $38,770.08 for a 37.5 hour workweek.
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a biological, environmental or natural science, which includes at least thirty credit hours in the biological sciences.
Must have three years of professional experience in research, environmental impact assessment or related environmental program areas.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Graduate work in the biological, environmental or natural sciences will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
