Two-person crew will navigate to designated wetlands and collect information about vegetation, soil, hydrology, and disturbance. Crew will be based out of Laramie (SE Wyoming) and work in NW Wyoming. After training, schedule will be 9 days on, 4 days off. Crew will car-camp and must provide their own camping equipment; we will provide housing in Laramie on days off. We will provide vehicle.
(1) Proficiency in identifying Rocky Mountain wetland plants. (2) Ability to quickly recognize unfamiliar plants. (3) Ability to collect good-quality plant specimens and label information. (4) Careful attention to detail in making measurements, recording data, keeping track of equipment and forms. (5) Willingness to work long days, sometimes in inclement weather and with mosquitoes. (6) Willingness to walk up to 5 miles, carrying 15 - 20 pounds. (7) Willingness to work in occupied grizzly-bear habitat (we will train in bear safety). (8) Ability to navigate with map, compass, GPS receiver. (9) Valid driver's license. Submit cover letter, resume or CV showing qualifications, and contact information for 3 references.
