The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is currently recruiting a specialist to work with fisheries professionals to manage, protect, and restore Vermont’s fish and their habitats. This position involves advanced technical level work including assistance with a range of fisheries research and management activities. Duties include organizing and conducting fish population and habitat surveys, participating in the stocking of cultured fish, performing angler surveys, data entry and database management, review of regulatory permits, public outreach involvement, processing and analyzing field collected samples, and operating and maintaining field gear and equipment.
Education: Bachelor's degree in fisheries management, fisheries biology, ecology, or natural resources.
Experience: 4 years of professional experience in fisheries management or related field
