Funding is available for a M.S. Research Assistantship in Forest Ecology and Management in the Department of Forestry at Southern Illinois University. Current research focuses on the response of forest communities to management and natural disturbance (http://mypage.siu.edu/eholzmue). The assistantship carries a competitive stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance for 2 years. Anticipated start date for assistantship is August 2017.
Minimum qualifications include a B.S. degree in forestry, ecology, biology, or related field, 3.0 GPA, demonstrated writing ability, and a strong GRE scores. Coursework in Central Hardwood silviculture and experience with GIS is preferred.
