A.I.S., Inc is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a potential position to supply professional scientific services in support of NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). The position will focus on supporting the NMFS mission of assessing, managing, and promoting the conservation of the American Lobster Stock along the Atlantic Coast.

Duties: The work will be full time Monday to Friday and be based out of the Greater Atlantic Region Fisheries Office in Gloucester MA. The candidate will work on providing research materials and preparing rules for Atlantic Lobster management. The work will involve:
o Designing and distributing lobster trap program information fliers and registration forms.
o Frequent interaction with members of the commercial fishing industry, scientific research team and government employees.
o Extensive data entry and auditing of lobster permit data
o Preparing internal and external correspondence
o Performs outreach activities with the fishing industry
o Reviewing NOAA grants to verify meeting benchmarks
o Other duties as assigned

Experience/Education Requirements –A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a related field with emphasis in fisheries science. Experience preparing scientific reports and educational fliers. Extensive data entry and analysis experience. The ability to interact with a broad range of different people.

Start Date: August 7, 2017 if awarded the contract
