Gray Catbird Field Technician: Montana

Field work is located on a private ranch on the Bitterroot River near Florence, Montana.

SONGBIRD FIELD TECHNICIAN needed from mid-May through late July to assist with an Overwintering study of Gray Catbirds. Technician will be responsible for data logger retrieval, color band re-sighting, target-netting, and nest-searching of adult Gray Catbirds. Technician will also assist in a constant effort mist-netting site once every 10 days. The qualified technician will work as part of a crew in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. Applicants should be enthusiastic, physically fit, and can expect early mornings, and spectacular country. Pay will be $10-14/hr DOE.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have nest-searching, spot-mapping, re-sighting and data logger attachment experience. Applicants must be able to work alone, follow detailed protocols, and hike uneven terrain. A valid driver’s license, binoculars, and a strong work ethic are required.
