Gulf Islands National Seashore is seeking an interested undergraduate student to lead historical and recreational programs throughout the summer season.
The Stewardship Crew Leader should be enthusiastic about history and representing the National Park Service. This person will demonstrate the life of a soldier, in any of the roles that they may have played within the sites of Gulf Islands National Seashore. Along with accurate historical interpretation, the Crew Leader will direct the day-to-day work of the four other Stewardship Crew Members.
This intern will be responsible for ensuring that the Stewardship Crew represents the stories and legacy of Gulf Islands National Seashore and the National Park Service.
This intern should also be passionate about stewardship through education. There will be the opportunity to lead kayak, snorkeling, and/or seining programs at the seashore and this person will show our visitors what the land has to offer and encourage environmental protection.
Government housing is available if necessary.
This person should have a background in history or historical interpretation, have an interest in environmental recreation, and should have a passion for encouraging stewardship through education.

Minimum one year of undergraduate study (18 hours) preferred.
