Brief Job Description
• This position requires the ability to work up to 40 hours per week and varied shifts that may include weekends, early mornings or evenings. This position requires the ability to work independently. Job duties may include interacting with the public on nuisance animal complaints, crop damage, and general DNR issues. On site visits will be required to determine crop damage and issuing permits. General office duties include answering calls, compiling data, keeping records and filling out forms. Other duties include aging deer, collecting biological data and using hand held data devices. Employee will be required to keep daily work records.
Selection Criteria:
• Education: Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Experience: No specific amount of type is required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Possession of or working towards a degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biologist, or a related field.
• Flexibility to work various hours and dates, up to 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate well with co-workers and the public.
• Knowledge or experience relating to wildlife or DNR programs.
• Ability to accurately read a map.
• General office work, including basic computer knowledge, photocopying, answering telephones, etc.

Screening Criteria
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience interacting with customers or the public.
• Experience working for any wildlife related agency.
• Experience aging deer and using electronic hand-held units.
• Experience with data collection and recording.
• Experience working with wildlife damage/nuisance animal issues
• Ability to recognize crop damage and how to recommend a person reduce damage.
