Brief Job Description
This position will assist with farming operations, pesticide application, mowing fields, trail and dike maintenance, and banding geese/ducks. Other tasks will include assisting with mowing parking lots and dikes, building maintenance, sign posting, trash pickup, and vehicle cleaning.
Selection Criteria:
• Education: Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
• Experience: No specific amount of type is required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• May be assigned duties that require the application of pesticides, which may require certification or registration as a pesticide applicator in compliance with the Pesticide Control Act of 1976.
• May require possession of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate a designated state vehicle.

• Education: Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
Possession of or working towards a degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Biologist, or a related field.
• Flexibility to work various hours and dates, up to 40 hours per week, including some weekends.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate well with co-workers and the public
• Knowledge and experience operating tractors, farm equipment (bush-hogs, plow, disks, planters), construction equipment and the maintenance of such equipment.
• Knowledge and experience using chainsaws, weed trimmers, and/or other types of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge or experience relating to wildlife or DNR programs.
• Ability to accurately read a map

Screening Criteria:
• Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating tractors and farm implements (brush-hogs, plow, disk, planters)
• Experience operating construction equipment.
• Experience using hand tools/power tools/chainsaws/weed trimmers.
• Experience maintaining equipment
• Experience interacting with customers or the public.
• Possess a commercial pesticide applicators license
• Possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• Experience working for any wildlife related agency
