Description
Seeking Research Technicians to assist with Northern Bobwhite radio-telemetry (i.e. bobwhite tracking), nest searching, and other associated fieldwork as a part of a larger experimental study. Individuals will also assist with data entry, equipment maintenance, and other various duties upon request of the supervisor. In addition to research experience, the selected individuals will gain numerous opportunities to work directly with Georgia DNR. Previous experience with radio-telemetry and ATV operation are desired. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, databases and ArcGIS is desired. Applicants should be able to lift up to 25 lbs for brief periods and should be willing to work in inclement weather conditions.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. B.S. in wildlife or related field or working toward B.S. degree
2. An interest in game bird management and ecology
3. Previous telemetry, field research, and computer experience is preferred
4. Individuals need a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record
5. An agreement/understanding of consumptive wildlife management practices
6. A positive attitude and willing to be a team player

2. Compensation: Commensurate with experience but approximately $9 per hour
