The Wetland Plant Ecology Lab (https://sites01.lsu.edu/faculty/quirklab/) in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University is seeking a highly motivated student with strong academic credentials and previous field experience to work on a collaborative research project investigating the effects of nutrients and sediments on wetland plant productivity and soil carbon. This research will involve a combination of both field and greenhouse studies with the goal to provide wetland managers and restoration practitioners with valuable information relevant to planned wetland restoration activities.
Minimum qualifications for this position include a B.S. degree (M.S. for Ph.D. position) in ecology, biogeochemistry or a related discipline. The candidate must be able to work in the field under adverse conditions and have excellent organizational skills. Preference will be given to applicants with prior field experience. The Department of Oceanography requires a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and GRE scores of 300 for admission.
