Description
We are looking to hire a 1-year postdoctoral fellow to help with a study of the sensory physiology (both auditory and visual) of bald and golden eagles funded by the Department of Energy. The postdoc can be extended for a second year based upon performance. The goal of the study is to identify stimuli that can be used to reduce eagle mortality rates around wind turbines.

Applicants should have experience measuring sensory properties, preferably in birds. Experience handling large birds is a plus. Applicants will be expected to measure auditory evoked potentials as an index of auditory processing and microspectophotometry, cone densities, visual field configuration, etc. as indices of visual processing. The postdoc position can start as soon as July 10th 2017, although the start time is flexible.
