Description
The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Natural Resources at West Virginia University. This position will lead a project synthesizing more than 2 decades of research investigating the effects of experimental forest management across a broad range of taxonomic groups. Primary responsibilities will include:
1. Participating in multi-species occupancy analyses of reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals in response to experimental forest management.
2. Developing a peer-reviewed manuscript synthesizing more than 2 decades of research into the effects of experimental forest management across a broad range of taxonomic groups. Opportunities for additional work include development of novel statistical techniques for analysis of community-level data and analysis of species-specific demographic data, depending on the interest and expertise of the successful candidate. This position is funded for 1 year, with the possibility of extending the appointment conditional on additional funding.
Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a PhD in Wildlife Biology or a related field by the start date. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and expertise with modern statistical ecology methods (experience with Bayesian methods preferred), an ability to work across taxonomic groups, and a strong track record of publication. The preferred start date is August 2017.
