One (1) temporary position available in Scott City, Kansas under direct supervision of Kent Fricke, Small Game Coordinator. Incumbent will assist in the trapping, radio-marking, and radio-telemetry of lesser prairie-chickens in western Kansas. Work hours will be highly variable on a day-to-day basis. Job duties include: setting walk-in traps and drop nets, handling and transporting lesser prairie-chickens, acquiring permission to access private property from landowners, and other duties as assigned. Bunk-house sleeping and eating quarters or hotel room provided during work week.

Position will run March 27 through April 21, 2017.

BENEFITS: Hourly wage $12.98 per hour. Work week will be primarily Monday-Friday with some weekends. 40 hours maximum per week, 999 hours maximum. No paid holidays.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform duties in a variety of outdoor settings and weather conditions. Must be comfortable speaking to public while maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude. Required to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in natural resource management and wildlife trapping and handling experience.
