Description
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION Texan by Nature is seeking applicants for a 15-25 hours per week fall internship at the Texan by Nature office in Austin. The intern will support day to day operations of the organization, including conducting research, assisting with marketing and communications, supporting event planning and execution, and conducting general administrative tasks. TERM Minimum of nine weeks between late August and mid-November. Specific start/end dates flexible. Minimum of 15 hours per week and up to 25 hours per week. RESPONSIBILITIES Complete tasks as delegated by the Executive Director and Program Manager including: −Programs: Research conservation projects, natural resource issues, and other subjects as directed. Set up project site visits and partner meetings and generate reports. −Events:Assist with planning and execution of public events, including media coordination, logistics, and day-of duties. −Fundraising: Assist with fundraising activities, including donor communications, research, and database implementation. −Marketing and Communications: Support web and social media communications, including generating content, expanding online outreach, and growing online follower base. Assist with the production of marketing materials, both printed and online. −Administrative: Perform day to day office administrative tasks, such as maintaining office supplies, answering the telephone, and maintaining file systems.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS Completed or currently starting junior or senior year of a B.S. or B.A. in business, communications, wildlife, natural resources, nonprofit management or related field. Graduate students welcome. Must have own transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Familiar with social media platforms and types of media content. Must represent the office in a professional manner and be willing/able to travel to and from and represent the organization at out-of-town events.
