Waterfowl Technician: North Carolina
Jones Island Club
Dependent on experience
Last Date to Apply
Jones Island Club is a private 5,000 acre duck hunting club on the coast of North Carolina. We manage farmed freshwater impoundments, freshwater moist-soil management units, and saltwater moist-soil management units, as well as “outside blinds” that are located around the edge of our island to hunt diving ducks. A seasonal technician is needed from mid-May 2017 – February 2018. Start and end dates are flexible. Candidates must have a positive attitude and can-do work ethic.
The ideal candidate will have experience with waterfowl management/hunting, farming experience, general use of equipment (tractor, backhoe, four-wheeler, lawn mower, chain saw, etc.), mechanical knowledge, carpentry, and professional appearance when catering to members. General maintenance, upkeep of the property, and habitat management is a large part of the position during the spring, summer, and early fall. Brushing duck blinds and building new blinds will be a major part of the position before duck season starts. Once duck season begins, the position is responsible for catering to members, assisting the cooks/housekeepers, and assisting during impoundment hunt days.

The housing provided with this position is located on the same private island as the lodges and is only accessibly by boat. Candidates must be able to tolerate mosquitoes, snakes, biting flies, heat, and cold temperatures. Pay is dependent on experience.
There is a possibility of full time employment if the right candidate is found. Please send a cover letter, resume, and three references to apply.
