The Nez Perce Tribe Water Resources Division is recruiting for: WATERSHED RESTORATION SPECIALIST II HR-17-168 This position is a full-time regular and based out of the McCall, ID field office. The candidate will join a highly professional and experienced team working on restoring and protecting aquatic ecosystems and watershed critical important to fisheries restoration, Nez Perce Tribal treaty resources, and all people. Position will participate in all aspects of watershed/aquatic ecosystem protection and restoration projects that include data collection/analysis, GIS analysis, assessments, project design/cost estimates, permitting, contracting, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and grant writing. Field duties include leading field work logistics/planning/crew. Typical projects include restoring fish passage, stream/riparian/floodplain restoration, reduction road related sedimentation, mine reclamation, and invasive weed control. Requires coordination with private, local, state, federal, and tribal entities.
Must be highly motivated and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and strong GIS data analysis experience. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in related watershed restoration (fisheries, biology....) field. Related field and/or course work requirements defined in job expectations. Requires three (3) professional level experience or one (1) year professional experience with Master’s degree. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required. The Nez Perce Tribe is a drug free work environment, pre-employment drug testing required. Requires a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the Tribe’s policy. Must provide a current motor vehicle report (MVR) where you have been licensed to drive within the last three (3) years.
