SULTANA is seeking a Cook for the 2019 season. Next season SULTANA will travel the Chesapeake Bay, visiting ports in Maryland and Virginia. Each year we work with over 4,500 students doing educational day sails as well as 3-8 day live aboard programs.
In addition to being an active member of the crew, the Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean and well-organized galley. During the spring and fall the Cook is only providing meals for the crew. During the summer the Cook provides meals to 16-20 people.
Employment for this position begins in March and continues through November. Shorter terms are also available. Crew members often work 5-day weeks, receive competitive compensation and are provided with a private bunk onboard the ship as well as space in SULTANA’s new crew apartment in Chestertown, MD
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and prior educational/sailing experience are preferred. Applicants should have strong communication skills and an active interest in education.
