- Description
- I’m looking for an MS student to join a research project investigating how Cerulean Warblers respond to forest management in the challenging terrain of the Ozarks in Arkansas. Collaborating with Arkansas State University and the U.S. Forest Service, you'll engage in fieldwork that includes mist netting, nest searching, censusing, and visual observations of color-banded birds. The overall goal of the research is to determine how management influences, habitat use, nesting success and spatial use of forest stands in Ozark Forests. The position starts between January and April 2024.
- Qualifications
- This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible species but it requires dedication to long hours in remote sites that often present hot, and humid conditions. Applicant must possess a driver’s license and be able to pass a background check. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in bird research where strong communication and analytical skills are a plus. To apply, please send a single PDF file containing a cover letter, CV, GRE scores, unofficial undergraduate transcripts and contact information for three references to Dr. Chris Kellner at ckellner@atu.edu.
