Loomacres Wildlife Management is looking for a lead biologist to assist with the monitoring and mitigation of wildlife on airfields. Duties will include: avian and mammalian surveys, nuisance mitigation, avian harassment, specimen sampling and occasional depredation for airfield safety. The biologist will be responsible for the day to day organization of up to four technicians assisting with various projects to reduce wildlife hazards on airfields.Must be able to reside within a reasonable distance from the assigned work locations. Ideal candidates will fill work shifts covering nights, weekends, and evenings.
Ideal candidates will have up-beat personalities, dedication, passion for the work, and eagerness to learn. Candidates must be able to work independently, and as part of a team, to accomplish required tasks.
Candidates must be willing to work all tasks, including cleaning, data entry, and client interaction as needed. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience with wildlife hazards on and around airfields. Prior experience directing and managing technicians on large scale projects is required.
Applicants shall possess a minimum of a bachelors degree in wildlife management, biology, ecology, zoology or a closely related field. Having obtain a master's degree is preferred.
Experience conducting wildlife harassment and control, bird handling, mammalian trapping (small and large) and strong plant identification experience is preferred. Applicants must have previous worked on and completed a FAA approved Wildlife Hazard Assessment under a Airport Wildlife Biologist. A minimum of 1 year experience working on an airports wildlife hazard management program is required, 3-5 years of experience preferred.

• Must be able to pass a stringent background check and drug test
• Computer skills including; Microsoft office, use of email, and internet
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Be willing to follow through on assignments to their completion
• Must be able to work outdoors and remain on your feet for extended periods
• Full drivers license with clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a color vision test
• Must have experience using firearms and various wildlife (avian and mammalian trapping equipment).
