Description
Reports To (Mentor Name and Title): Mary Giannola Location: Camp Colton Primary Function / Purpose: Summer Education Major Responsibilities and Duties: (Please list as bullet points) Example:  Assists the Camp Colton team in ensuring a positive, enjoyable, and safe experience for student campers, staff, and visitors  Deliver high quality curriculum and instruction  Participate in and support all camp activities  Incorporate information about environmental careers and college paths into curriculum  Assists with managing the camp's educational resources and equipment. Informs the Camp Coordinator of maintenance issues.  Supports the Camp's risk management plan and protocol and participates in weekly debrief meetings with the Camp Coordinator  Assists the Camp Coordinator with ensuring overall Camp safety and provides leadership and support to staff and students.  Supervises and provides childcare to students within the scope of providing educational services and general program support  Performs miscellaneous camp duties, chores, and cleaning  Performs other duties as assigned and in all weather conditions  Assists with FUSD's efforts to make up for lost learning during the pandemic
Qualifications
Required: • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) • Team-Oriented • Excellent presentation skills • Prior experience teaching and working with children • Enjoys working with children in an outdoor setting • Motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, team-oriented, and accountable • Participates in a pre-season training/orientation class • Current Fingerprint Clearance Card, can obtain when selected • Current First Aid and CPR certification, can obtain when selected • Current Coconino County Department of Health Services Food Handler's Certificate, can obtain when selected • Valid driver's license and ability to provide personal transportation to Camp Colton • May be required to qualify to drive District vehicles Preferred: Examples: • Experience working with students • Public speaking Experience • Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
