There are 5 seasonal openings available for winter animal care internships at The Creature Conservancy. This volunteer position entails 20 hours/week of husbandry and education experience, including diet preparation and delivery for our collection of over 100 species of birds, mammals, reptiles & amphibians. Interns have the opportunity to learn and participate in all aspects of zoo animal care, including diet preparation, enrichment, health monitoring, behavior training, enclosure maintenance, and administration of medication. Work hours are 9 am to 1 pm on weekdays, with holiday availability a priority for applicants. The Creature Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a connection to wildlife in our local community. Our animals, many of them rescues, serve as ambassadors to the public through educational outreach presentations, or while on interpreted display during our weekend open hours.
Anyone interested in pursuing a career in animal care, conservation, or biology is encouraged to apply, though priority will be given to applicants pursuing a degree in the natural sciences and those receiving credit for internship participation.
