- Aquatic Control Inc. is a privately owned lake and pond management company with a main office in Seymour, Indiana and satellite offices in Valparaiso, Indiana; Evansville, Indiana; St. Louis, Missouri; Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Memphis, Tennessee; Williamsville, Illinois, and Des Moines, Iowa. Aquatic Control has been in the lake and pond management business for over 56 years. Our staff consists of fisheries biologists and technicians with a combined 500+ years of experience in aquatic vegetation management, fisheries management, product sales, and aquatic ecosystem management. We are hiring a full-time entry- level Aquatic Biologist that will be stationed at our Springfield, Illinois office. Duties to include the following: • Primary duty will be the application of EPA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides • Installation and maintenance of aerators, fountains, and diffused aeration systems • Aquatic plant surveys • Writing vegetation management plans • Performing fish surveys • Attend industry related training events and conferences • Heavy field work from March through October • General maintenance of trucks, boats, equipment, and grounds • Speaking at pond clinics, trade shows, and public meetings
- Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in fisheries/aquatic science or a natural resources related field • Experience with aquatic vegetation identification • GPS and GIS experience • Must pass mandatory drug test and DOT physical prior to start date • Basic mechanical ability (experience in outboard motor operation is a plus) • Experience driving a full size truck and boat is preferred • Ability to work in an outdoor environment (physical labor required) • Ability to work an average of 50 hours per week • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
