A field technician is needed to assist with doctoral research on wolf-aspen interactions in Yellowstone National Park. Duties include hiking to aspen stands in Yellowstone's backcountry, performing transect surveys of aspen, setting up camera traps and soil sensors, and collecting leaf tissue samples. This job is perfect for students who want to gain field experience this summer, or who are interested in food web dynamics and trophic interactions. There are additional opportunities to learn about data management and analysis, if interested. Survey Dates: July 20th - August 20th Housing is provided in Gardiner, MT
I'm looking for an enthusiastic and positive individual who is a quick learner and willing to work long and sometimes strenuous days. Previous experience with backcountry hiking and deploying camera traps is desired, but not required. Training will be provided on-the-job.
