An ideal candidate will be familiar with standard aquaculture practices including but not limited to as it relates to vannamei: daily animal husbandry, feed preparation, water quality, general laboratory techniques, culturing of live feed and microalgae, animal handling, collection and harvesting animals, data keeping, weekly sampling, and packing animals. Minimum Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Animal Science, Natural Science, or closely related field. Experience with vannamei can be substituted for a degree. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in biological or physical science and two-year husbandry experience with aquatic species Working Conditions: Flexible including evenings, weekends, and holidays. In addition, the hatchery is indoors and greenhouses with limited ventilation. Employee must be accustomed to hot working environments with high humidity levels. Must follow all biosecurity protocols and OSHA standards. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
