- The School of Agricultural Sciences at Sam Houston State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Wildlife Management, Animal Science, or Range Management. An earned doctorate from an accredited University in the aforementioned fields or a closely-related field is required. The tenure-track, nine-month appointment begins September 2023 or when a suitable candidate is found. This is a 75% teaching and 25% research appointment with service activities required for promotion, merit pay increases, and tenure. Primary teaching and research responsibilities will be in the discipline of Animal Science with an emphasis in intensive management systems of wildlife production. Wildlife production courses include principles of wildlife management, game animal production, habitat and pond management, and upland game bird and waterfowl management. Teaching responsibilities may also include other animal science or related courses as needed. Ability to teach traditional and online courses is expected. The successful applicant will contribute to our growing undergraduate research program and competitive teams.
