The Assistant Forest Restoration Specialist is a full-time, temporary position that assists the Natural Resources program biologists in the planning, execution, and monitoring of forest management activities on North Carolina state parks, recreation areas, and natural areas. The technician's primary function will be to assist with the silvicultural aspects of forest management including performing forest inventories using accepted statistical methodologies, marking of trees and boundaries, and the monitoring of harvesting activities. The position will also participate in a wide variety of other forest management activities including all aspects of prescribed fire, restoration, invasive species control, heavy equipment operation and equipment maintenance.
Bachelors degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. . .
