Baylor University Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Microbial Ecology to begin Fall 2023. We are seeking an outstanding researcher and educator who will establish and lead a robust research program in microbial ecology at the undergraduate and graduate level. We are specifically interested in a microbial ecologist with expertise in freshwater, coastal, or marine ecosystems. Ideal applicants will use molecular tools such as, but not limited to, (meta)genomic, (meta)transcriptomic, or other ‘omic’ or amplicon approaches to investigate population and/or community ecology of microorganisms, the role of microbes in biogeochemistry and freshwater/marine food webs, and microbial diversity.
Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in biology or closely related discipline.
