Description
The Department of Biology at San Diego State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Urban Evolutionary Biology who investigates topics such as effects of anthropogenic and environmental changes on plasticity, novel adaptations, range-shifts or dietary/predator-prey interactions. We value applicants who use integrative genomic, phenotypic, computational, or behavioral studies to address fundamental questions about the evolutionary impacts of urbanization in flora/fauna. Applicants who conduct binational studies and/or collections-based research are particularly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology or a related field, postdoctoral research experience or equivalent, and a record of research accomplishments, including publications and potential for extramural support. Appointees will mentor undergraduates and graduate students in our Joint Doctoral Program in Evolutionary Biology (offered jointly with the University of California, Riverside) and our Master of Science program in Evolutionary Biology, as well as contribute to our undergraduate and graduate teaching mission.
