Description
Two Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Positions in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology The Department of Biological Sciences at Kent State University is seeking applicants to fill two full-time (9 month), tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek individuals with expertise in evolutionary biology and/or ecology, with particular focus in plant biology (999525) or microbiology (999273). For both positions, the successful applicants will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, engage in collaborative research, and contribute to the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) program by mentoring undergraduate students and directing graduate theses and dissertations. In addition to research and mentoring, we are seeking faculty to engage in teaching an introductory plant biology course (position #999525) and general microbiology (position #999273), as well as graduate-level EEB courses. Required qualifications include a PhD, a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, the ability to envision and articulate an independent research program, evidence of effective teaching and/or mentoring, and a commitment to diversity. Salary and startup funds are competitive and commensurate with academic qualifications and prior experience.
