The Forestry Management Technologies Department of Horry Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for an Associate Professor, Forestry/Wildlife. Applicants should be passionate about natural resources management, with work experience in natural resources (wildlife, wetlands, soils) and forestry. The successful candidate will have expertise in both traditional and innovative natural resource measurement techniques and forest inventory strategies. The successful candidate will support our SAF-accredited forestry program by contributing to existing courses such as Dendrology, Wildlife Management and Techniques, Forest Ecology, and GIS and Remote Sensing. There are opportunities to collaborate with federal and state agencies, industry, and private landowners/managers who enhance students’ education and graduate placement. Additional responsibilities include advising students, serving on college committees, and participating in recruitment and orientation efforts on behalf of the department and the college.
Minimum: Master’s degree in Forestry; or a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry plus three (3) years related experience. Preferred: Proficient in the use of Banner and Desire to Learn (D2L) as well as third party software platforms and excellent writing and effective communication skills; teaching experience.
