- In partnership with West Liberty University, Osa Institute is looking for interested students to enroll in BIO 278 Tropical Biology (4 credits) for non-majors with a 10 day study abroad field excursion in Costa Rica. Osa Institute is located in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica, which is documented to contain 2.5% of Earth’s biodiversity within a small land mass. With Golfo Dulce, a tropical fjord, to Corcovado National Park, Osa Institute is situated in an ideal location to explore biodiversity and biological concepts. The 10-day field lab component will occur TBD in late June and include a mix of culture, marine and terrestrial conservation, research, and course-related projects. The lecture component is online remote learning beginning May 8th-June 30th for Summer I semester. Select ‘Transient (Visiting Student)’: If you want to take classes at WLU and transfer the credit to another institution. A transient or course approval form is required from the current institution for admissions review. Select ‘Special/Non-degree Seeking Student’: If you want to take classes at WLU but don’t plan to pursue a degree. A transcript from prior institution(s) must be submitted for admissions review. Term: Spring 2023 (UG) Once the application is completed, an electronic signature is required to review and submit the application.
