Monk & Associates, Inc. (M&A), is hiring a Biological Construction Monitor, with 5 years’ experience working with Northern California endangered wildlife and plant species. We are interested in hiring a Biological Construction Monitor, with monitoring experience that has been approved as a monitor by California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Familiarity with California tiger salamander and California red-legged frog a must. CDFW scientific collecting permit a plus.
Our ideal candidate must have a strong educational background in botany, wetlands, and/or wildlife biology; solid field experience, and a good understanding of environmental regulations, including California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.
Responsibilities would include:
Daily Construction Monitoring
Conducting field surveys for plants and/or animals (depending on technical expertise);
Preparing survey reports and compliance reports
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental biology, ecology, wildlife management, botany, or related field. All candidates should have strong field skills.
A solid background and field experience in identifying California fauna and/or flora (depending on technical expertise) and vegetation communities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work as a team with other biologists and independently when necessary.
Be comfortable working both in the field and in the office.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience, but generous per the industry standard.
