Job Description: Provide technical field support and data management to the biological program at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
Duties: assisting biological program with plant and animal surveys (shorebirds, sea turtles, pollinators, freshwater marsh vegetation, frog calls, etc.), non-native vegetation mapping through ArcGIS & ArcCollector and removal including herbicide application, data entry and management, GPS/ GIS, assisting with visitor service & public events as needed, early morning/late evening surveys, occasional weekend work, working with staff and volunteers, supply and equipment inventories and organization, maintains refuge equipment and supplies and other duties to assist biology program and refuge staff.
Qualifications: Knowledge of wildlife biology, conservation biology, natural resource management, or zoology; B.S. preferred. Ability to work independently and with a team in the field. Enthusiasm for field work, positive attitude, self-starter, physically fit. Personal transportation required for local non-work travel. Valid driver’s license required.
