Biologist will conduct field surveys for ecological monitoring of plots in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado in forested areas. Plants will be identified and measurements of fuels recorded as well as other ecological data. GPS instrumentation will be utilized. Biologists will camp. The project will commence this fall and extend through the end of year and possibly longer. BRIC is a growing firm with contracts for several federal agencies including Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Army Corps of Engineers. Work could lead to future opportunities.
Degree in biology, botany, forestry or related field. At least two years experience in conducting field data collection in the western U.S. Experience in the southwest desirable. Experience with GPS instrumentation. Good communication skills required. Good plant identification skills. Forestry survey experience desirable. Send resume and three references in one document.
