The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (https://newcollege.asu.edu/mathematical-natural-sciences-degree-programs) at Arizona State University, is an interdisciplinary mathematical and natural sciences unit that encompasses biology, biotechnology, chemistry, computing, environmental science, forensic sciences, statistics, mathematics, pharmacology/toxicology and physics. Successful candidates will primarily be expected to provide innovative instruction in biology and related fields, and to contribute service to the university and the profession. Faculty can participate in university-wide graduate programs.

Essential Functions of Lecturers:
The individuals filling these positions will teach up to four lectures or labs per semester, within the areas of biology, ecology, environmental sciences, ecotoxicology, genetics or other related fields within the candidate’s area of expertise. Work with colleagues within and outside the department to develop innovative curricula that enhance student access and success, and provide other departmental service as assigned.
1. Masters degree in biology or closely related field by the time of appointment
2. Experience teaching college level courses.
3. Ability and commitment to work with diverse populations and encourage student success.
1. At least five years’ experience teaching at the college level, additional graduate coursework beyond the Masters degree
2. Experience using course management software such as Canvas
3. Experience in collaborative teaching efforts with other disciplines
4. Service at the departmental level.
5. Experience or demonstrated commitment to incorporating the principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and research.
