- Description
- The selected applicant will complete a variety of range/vegetation monitoring and noxious weeds treatments. Range/vegetation monitoring will consist of line point intercept, utilization checks (cages and clipping), rangeland compliance checks, and inventory of range improvement projects. Noxious weeds treatment and mapping will include the application of herbicides, manual removal using shovels or other hand-tools, and mapping weed infestation using GPS. Must be able to type, drive, spend 10 hours in the field, and hike challenging terrain.
- Qualifications
- General Qualifications: - Plant identification skills preferred - Ability to hike long distances in rough, uneven terrain and a variety of weather conditions (e.g., heat, rain etc.). Occasional camping may be required. - Must possess a valid driver’s license to operate government vehicles and equipment. Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent - 18 Years of age or older with a valid driver license and clean driving record. - Eligibility to work in the US - This position is supported by the Public Lands Hiring Authority which requires candidates to be between the ages of 16 to 30. - Pre-service background screening required, including FBI background check - Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
