Kentucky features one National Quail Focus Area in Livingston County and the Commonwealth's premiere Quail Focus Area at Peabody WMA (Ohio and Muhlenberg Counties). -Backed by the nation’s authority on quail management, the National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative (NBCI), these areas display high-quality, focused bobwhite management. -The NBCI, through the Coordinated Implementation Plan (CIP), sets goals for states to achieve population level responses from bobwhite. In an attempt to capture these responses, intensive vegetation monitoring is necessary on these sites. -Duties will include: Independent field work Open lands plant ID Vegetation transects Navigating aerial imagery Communicating with landowners Delineating habitat types -2 positions available: Livingston and Crittenden Counties (western KY) & Peabody WMA (Ohio and Muhlenberg Counties) -Housing is included -Interested candidates should send a resume/CV and cover letter to Cody Rhoden: -Start date may be flexible
