South Carolina Waterfowl Association's Camp Woodie is now hiring staff for summer 2018! Camp Woodie is the ultimate outdoor experience for youth ages 8-16. We have 11 weeks of summer camp planned that include numerous outdoor activities: shooting, fishing, archery, canoeing, structure building, duck calling, capture the flag, campfire, mudpit, etc. Visit our website and Facebook page for more insight to Camp Woodie.
We are currently hiring counselors, shooting instructors, photographers, lifeguards, and nurses for summer 2018! Meals and Lodging are provided for the duration of the summer. If you love the outdoors and you enjoy being around kids, then this is the perfect way for you to spend your summer! Camp begins in late May and runs through August 9th. More specific work dates will be given during hiring process.
The workweek begins on Sundays at 2PM and ends on Thursday at 8PM.
All staff will be certified in CPR/First Aid and 4H Shooting Instruction during staff training. Camp will also provide lifeguard training to those interested.
Job responsibilities include:
Working with children ages 8-16
Teaching proper shooting techniques with shotguns, rifles, and archery
Leading recreational activities
Teaching wildlife education and conservation
Interacting with parents/guardians at drop off and pick up
Teaching manners and ethics to the next generation
Working long hours and hot days in the SC summer heat
Setting a good example for young men and women
Completed at least 1 year of college
Have a valid drivers license
Pass a drug screening and background check
