- Description
- 2 temporary positions (999 hours max) will be available located out of the Emporia Research and Survey office under direct supervision of Liam Odell. These positions will have the opportunity to work up to 1 year, as allotted (999 hours) resets in December. Incumbent will get to travel state wide working on invasive carp removal and suppression. Position is based out of Emporia, KS but there is flexibility for candidate to live near Lawrence or Kansas City. Carp removal technicians job duties will include running gill nets, electrofishing, operating boats, data entry, equipment maintenance, and carp age and growth research. The job will give you valuable experience and prepare you for the next step in your career.
- Qualifications
- Must be able to perform duties in a variety of outdoor settings and weather conditions. Must be comfortable speaking to the public while maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude. Must have a willingness to learn and work well as a team. Required to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest in natural resource management.
