- Climate Action Corpsmember (Energy and Water Conservation) Fight Climate Change in Your Community Make a difference, and make a better future for yourself at Mile High Youth Corps. We are a group of young people who are focused on combatting Climate Change and educating ourselves on the issues that face our community. This is not like other jobs. Join us for our Fall Climate Action- Energy & Water Conservation program! The Energy & Water Conservation program (E&W) is a team-based, 14 or 21 week-long program for individuals between the ages 18-24. E&W participants (called Corpsmembers) serve on community-based energy and water conservation projects throughout the Denver metro area. Corpsmembers will be enrolled in AmeriCorps—a national community service program. Corpsmembers will earn up to $17,547 for a 26-week term or $23,796 for a 35-week term in total compensation. Never had a job in conservation before? Not sure if you like this kind of work? That’s okay! Our goal is to support you with the knowledge and team that you need to be successful. We will provide you with hands-on training and certificates related to all projects. - Qualifications
- Between 18-24 years old. Must be eligible for enrollment in AmeriCorps as a US Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident. Documentation will be required on the first day. High School Diploma or GED required. English proficiency; bi-lingual Spanish speaking applicants strongly encouraged to apply. Capable of participating in physical labor including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 lbs., able to conduct repetitive hand and arm motions, and able to maneuver in tight spaces, including bending and kneeling. Reasonable accommodations will be made in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Desire and ability to engage with people from different backgrounds and demographics. Demonstrate commitment to serving with your team, communication and problem solving
