I am seeking 2 technicians to assist with a project assessing avian response to habitat management practices in northeastern Colorado. The work will involve capturing northern bobwhites and attaching radio transmitters, monitoring birds via radio telemetry, sampling vegetation, and conducting songbird point counts. Technicians will work 40 hours/week with early mornings and irregular schedules. Approximate start and end dates are 1-Mar-2018 to 31-Aug-2018.
Applicants should possess a B.S. in wildlife science or related field. Preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with the grassland plants of northeastern Colorado. Experience capturing and handling gamebirds and using radio telemetry to locate animals is desirable. Experience with ATVs and driving with trailers is a plus. Technicians should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
