As the Communications Content Creator, you will play a key role in enthusiastically sharing the stories of the Aquarium's work and community impact. Working in a team environment, you will create engaging content for internal and external channels including news releases, website content, e-newsletters, and social posts. Work collaboratively with all departments and assist with media opportunities. Must have clear and effective communications skills, ensuring all content strengthens the Aquarium's mission, vision, and brand identity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Acquire content and write news releases, internal communications, and social posts Help plan, acquire visual assets, and write e-newsletters Assist with the production and delivery of live, digital events Assist Communications Specialist with video production Serve as backup to the Digital Content Strategist Participate in brainstorming, promoting, and coverage of special events Serve as backup Aquarium spokesperson Assists other areas of marketing as needed during major events Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Demonstrated writing skills (News releases, newsletters, internal communications tools, social media and web content) Proficient with AP style Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and social media administration tools Photography Video Production (preferred) Wordpress, Adobe Photoshop, MailChimp e-mail (preferred) Energetic team player Valid driver's license Educational/Experience Requirements Associate's degree in communications, public relations required, bachelor's degree preferred One to two years' experience communications, journalism, public relations Full time, hourly.
