Create, distribute, and curate content related to CEMML operations and its programs for outreach and marketing to internal and external audiences. Create and oversee content on the CEMML website, news page, and manage all CEMML social media. Continually evaluate the effectiveness of the CEMML’s content strategy and regularly report outcomes of the unit’s communications efforts to the Director and Executive Staff. Assist with ad hoc graphic design requests and implement projects following CSU and WCNR visual brand language.

Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field, or any other bachelor’s degree with related achievements and experience in environmental resources-associated communications.
Minimum four years’ experience in communications, outreach, or marketing.
Demonstrated experience creating content for websites, social media, or blogs.
Experience writing and editing press releases, feature stories, web content, and business letters.
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability work with a diverse range of people, including government and non-government officials.
Must have ability to work individually and in a team-based environment.
Must possess strong organizational skills with ability to plan, execute, and achieve goals.
Must be able to understand, assess, suggest and address the marketing needs of leadership and staff members.
Experience using WordPress or similar content management systems and some familiarity with HTML or CSS for website maintenance.
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licenses driver by the employment start date.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by proposed start date. CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Experience in the areas of natural and/or cultural resources and how they pertain to the DoD or other federal agencies.
Demonstrated experience working with multiple media platforms such as digital, print, video and social media.
Experience with technical and/or science writing.
Experience with graphic design, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Premier, iMovie, and Windows MovieMaker.
Experience with photography and/or video editing.
Proficiency in creating and delivering presentations and public speaking.
Knowledge of marketing principles, best practices, and techniques relevant to government communications.
Demonstrated success in client relations, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Experience developing, recommending, and adhering to program budget.
