FULL-TIME/PERMANENT CONFIGURATION AND ASSET MANAGEMENT ADMINISTRATOR LEAD IT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR – JOURNEY LEVEL Systems Engineering Asset Logistics (SEAL) Team Olympia, Washington – Thurston County Come join a team that fosters the most and best-possible secure, connected, and efficient information systems to maximize program-specific and/or organizational outcomes by implementing and supporting legacy and state-of-the-art technology infrastructure, hardware, and software. This is an opportunity to provide network, security, system, and services management, maintenance, and support with emphasis on a high level of availability. In this dynamic role, work together with all IT staff to improve the capabilities of our existing information technology infrastructure and services. With your experience, assist with software package building for delivery through Endpoint Manager and Company Portal. You are excited to provide technical support for hardware and software deployments and troubleshooting, by providing technical assistance to junior support staff in the areas of hardware maintenance and system encryption for all agency assets. We are seeking a candidate with advanced skills in analyzing, planning, organizing, troubleshooting, and solving complex computer problems. Duties: Configuration and Asset Management Administrator Lead duties include, Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM): -Manages hardware obsolescence by anticipating and forecasting hardware requirements necessary for the short and long-term resolution of support requests related to desktop and mobile computer upgrades. -Coordinates user/client requirements for computing services. Conduct needs assessments, integrate acquisition and collaborate with business units, IT associates, and outside vendors to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems required to fulfill business objectives and processes. -Manages hardware life cycle by identifying expired lease equipment and disposing of processed hardware. -Automate the discovery and management of all hardware and software components of asset inventory within the Agency infrastructure. Capture detailed records, such as the type of asset, make, specification and storing it in an asset data warehouse. Azure Active Directory and Endpoint Manager (Intune) Windows System Administrator: -Independently create and manage computer objects and assign computers to the correct AutoPilot Group Tag. -Manage active and inactive computer objects within Active Directory -Manage AutoPilot Windows Device baseline deployments as they relate to Endpoint Manager Configuration Profiles, Script Deployments, Software Package Deployments, and other configuration items in Endpoint Manager. -Create software package deployments as requested or required by the business Active Directory and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) System Administrator: -Independently create and manage computer objects and assign computers to the correct organizational unit (OU) within Active Directory. -Manage active and inactive computer objects within Active Directory. -Download, incorporate tasks to SCCM imaging task sequence and test driver packages. Tier 2 Technical Support -Provide Tier 2 technical support for all WDFW IT hardware assets by troubleshooting hardware, imaging, BitLocker encryption, SCCM client, Enforcement program VPN solution. -Build and configure custom systems to meet agency needs. System builds include specialized Enforcement program systems, regional KIOSK computers for public use, conference room workstations, Enforcement program communication center workstation (WILDCOMM), licensing Point of Sale (POS) systems, Apple Mac computers and any other approved specific business requested needs. Independently perform imaging, repairs, hardware upgrades, analysis, installation, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, problem resolution, best practice and/or consulting tasks for complex computing system, data access /retrieval for all agency desktop and mobile computers. -Lead large-scale projects (i.e. Agency wide Operating System Upgrades and BitLocker data encryption); direct and facilitate the installation of complex systems, hardware, software and applications; assist in developing and implementing quality assurance testing and performance monitoring. Asset Management - Security: -Provide senior level technical support and troubleshooting Microsoft BitLocker which is used to encrypt data on all agency computers and storage media devices by testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving problems. -Monitor BitLocker encryption compliancy state, throughout the agency; generate reports on non-compliant computer systems. -Installs and verifies IT administration and monitoring client software on all Agency computers. -Enforce the BitLocker encryption policy set by OCIO policies. -Implement security policies and standards; sanitize data from end of life cycle systems; review logs for all agency computers; mobile phones and devices with internal data storage. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work Setting, including hazards: -Work environment will be primarily in an office setting. -Employee may be required to work in small hard to reach areas and occasionally lifting computer equipment weighing up to 50lbs. Schedule: -8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. -Schedule may be adjusted with supervisory approval. Travel Requirements: -This position will require some travel to remote office and regional locations and overnight stays may be required. -Some evening and weekend work may be required. Tools and Equipment: -Standard Desktop Hardware, Laptops, Tablets, Telecommunications and Networking equipment and Software (CPU, MS Office, etc.) Customer Interactions: -As requested/directed to ensure strategic plans around desktop support functions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of recent (within the last five years) experience in EACH the following (experience can be gained concurrently): -Hardware/software configuring, testing, support and troubleshooting -Administering AV, BitLocker, or similar technical solutions -Administering Active Directory Services -Working with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) -Working within an organization using an ITIL based framework for IT service support/delivery. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -Two (2) years of recent (within the last five years) information technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware or network infrastructure equipment, providing technical support in information technology. -Associate degree or higher in a related field of study. -A+ Certification CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: WDFW requires all employees to be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine as a condition of employment.
