The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is looking for an undergraduate student entering either their Junior or Senior years or recently graduated with an interest in conservation, ecological restoration, and environmental research for a summer internship position. This internship is designed to help a student perform research, allowing them to receive school credit hours. Previous coursework in ecology, conservation, natural resource management, plant biology, horticulture, forestry, entomology, and/or familiarity with local plant and insect species is preferred • Previous coursework, experience, or familiarity with research and monitoring methods is recommended • Ability to work in a team with other interns and Conservation Staff • Must be able to work outdoors performing strenuous work in hot and humid weather • The ability to lift to 25 pounds, move safely over uneven terrain, climb stairs and work frequently outdoors
